More than ten years after ‘Cocktail’ charmed audiences, Homi Adajania is back with its successor, ‘Cocktail 2’. The newly released trailer introduces viewers to a tangled triangle featuring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna. It begins with Shahid’s character musing on the restless cycle of human connections. In Hindi, he reflects: “Whenever a relationship is new, it’s exciting because it’s new. New friends are fun because their stories are fun for us. We get tired of listening to the same stories from our old friends. Love is like that torn T-shirt in which we get a peaceful sleep for two nights. But when love turns into friendship and it enters friendship, then there’s only one solution to get out of it.” His contemplations are quickly disrupted when Kriti’s character cheekily interjects, “Like a threesome?” From there, the trailer sweeps into sunlit Italian landscapes, capturing the trio as they navigate intimacy, humour and uncertainty. The film arrives in cinemas on June 19th.
