Deepika Padukone doesn’t need an introduction when it comes to international platforms. Having worked in Hollywood and being a brand ambassadress of many reputed international brands, Deepika is a well known name. No wonder then that the actress-model-producer has been chosen as a jury member in the upcoming Cannes Film Festival 2022. Officially known as the Festival De Cannes, the one of the biggest shows on earth will run from May 17th to May 28th 2022. Deepika has been chosen as its jury from the Indian side. Her bio on the Cannes’ official website reads, ‘Deepika Padukone is an internationally recognised actor, producer, philanthropist and entrepreneur from India. She made her English language film debut as the female lead in ‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage’, co-starring with Vin Diesel. In 2018, Time Magazine named her as one of the 100 Most Influential People in The World.’ Excited about presenting the team, jury President Vincent Lindon says, “It is a great honour and source of pride to be entrusted, in the midst of the tumult of all the events we are going through in the world, with the splendid, weighty task of chairing the Jury of the 75th International Cannes Film Festival. With my Jury, we will strive to take the best possible care of the films of the future.”
