Veteran Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar passed away today at the age of 98. He was admitted at Khar’s Hinduja medical facility for shortness of breath a few days back, but couldn’t make it home this time as he breathed his last breath at the facility. His family friend Faisal Farooqui informed, “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab. We are from God and to Him we return.” The government gave the actor full state honours befitting his stature as one of India’s biggest stars. The frail nonagenarian was moving in and out of the hospital frequently as wife Saira Banu kept informing fans on social media. Born as Yusuf Khan, Dilip Kumar started his film journey from Jwar Bhata in 1944, his last full-fledged hit film being ‘Saudagar’ in 1991.
