The Taapsee Pannu starrer Thappad was trending for all the wrong reasons for the past few days. People called for a boycott of the film on social media platforms. But that’s in the past now. The reviews of the film started pouring in almost a week in advance and most critics have hailed the film unanimously. This could be Taapsee’s slap on the face of the faceless trolls who were bad mouthing the film for personal gains. Although the Anubhav Sinha directed drama was off to a slow start averaging about 10-15 percent occupancy in the morning shows, it is expected to gain momentum in the coming days thanks to strong word of mouth. For now, the expected opening figures for ‘Thappad’ remain between Rs 2 and 3 crore. The film will have competition from ‘Baaghi 3’ in the coming week.
