On July 26th, the industry was struck by the passing of Menka Irani, the beloved mother of Farah Khan and Sajid Khan who left all shortly after celebrating her 79th birthday. Despite her recent health struggles, her death came as a profound shock. As news of her passing spread, many from the film world gathered to offer their condolences at Farah Khan’s home. Among those who came to pay their respects were Shilpa Shetty, Rani Mukerji, Bhushan Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Maniesh Paul and Sanjay Kapoor. Reflecting on her mother’s life on the occasion of her birthday, Farah Khan had penned a heartfelt tribute revealing how her mother’s resilience and humor had deeply impacted her, “This last month has been a revelation on how much I love my mom, Menka. She’s been the strongest, bravest person I’ve ever seen… sense of humor intact even after multiple surgeries.” Menka Irani appeared in the 1963 film ‘Bachpan’ starring Salim Khan was also known for her ties to the industry through her husband Kamran Khan, a stuntman-turned-producer and is the youngest of the Iranian sisters Daisy Irani and Honey Irani.
