After years of silence surrounding ‘Jee Le Zaraa’, Farhan Akhtar has offered a long-awaited update on the project. In a candid conversation on the ‘Our Stupid Reactions’ podcast, Farhan dismissed rumours of its demise, saying, “I would hate to say that it is shelved. What I will say is that it is put on the back burner. ‘Jee Le Zara’ is a film that will happen.” Though he admitted there’s no set timeline for production, Akhtar’s enthusiasm for the story remains undimmed, “It’s too delicious a script. There’s so much work that’s already been done on it. I finished all the location scouts, I’ve recorded music for the film, all of this is done. It’s just a matter of time before we get back and do it again.” First announced in 2021, the ambitious road-trip drama had originally been planned with Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif in the lead.
