Nishikanth Kamat passed away today at AIG hospitals, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. He was 50. The ‘Drishyam’ director was admitted to the hospital on July 31st as he suffered from jaundice and abdominal distention. He had been diagnosed with chronic liver disease earlier. Riteish Deshmukh, who was very close to him, said, “I will miss you, my friend. Rest in peace.” Earlier in the day, Nishikant’s death rumours made the rounds all over when the filmmaker was put on life support. Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated and Kamat passed away hours later. As condolences poured in, Ajay Devgn said, “My equation with Nishikant was not just about ‘Drishyam’, a film which he directed with Tabu and me, it was an association that I cherished. He was bright and ever-smiling. He has gone too soon.”
