Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker and art director Nitin Desai will yet again weave their magic on celluloid by recreating Peshwa’s historical Shaniwar Wada fort located in Pune for their upcoming film ‘Panipat’. It will be built at ND Studios, Karjat, in its actual scale and grandeur. The bricks for the massive structure were laid on the auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya and the construction for the same began with a ‘pooja’ by Ashutosh Gowariker, his wife Sunita Gowariker and Nitin Desai along with crew members. “The Battle of Panipat is one of the most important chapters of our history and I am glad to be a part of this project. Shaniwar Wada was a stunning place and I am excited to recreate this magnificent structure for the film,” says Desai. ‘Painpat’ is based on the Third Battle of Panipat, which is one of the most epic battles in the history of India. The period drama is produced by Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkar’s company Vision World Films. The film is scheduled to release on December 6, 2019.
