Sajid Nadiadwala has inked an ambitious three-film agreement with Australia, marking a significant expansion of his production company’s international footprint. The deal was formalised during a meeting between the filmmaker and New South Wales Premier Chris Minns in Mumbai. Among the projects set to be filmed Down Under is ‘Heyy Babyy 2’, a sequel to the 2007 comedy that became a box office success despite receiving lukewarm critical reception. The original movie, featuring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Riteish Deshmukh and Fardeen Khan as three fathers unexpectedly caring for an infant, was also shot in Australia. This collaboration between Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Sydney-based TEMPLE will see the production house capitalise on Australia’s filmmaking infrastructure. Reflecting on his previous experience, Nadiadwala stated: “Australia is not only breathtakingly beautiful, but also an incredibly film-friendly country with a highly professional, efficient and welcoming environment for filmmakers. From our directors to EP, all had a fantastic time shooting there, and the support and warmth extended to our team made the entire process truly memorable.” He expressed enthusiasm about bringing additional productions to the nation.
