The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is making headlines like every time as the fest celebrates its 50th year in Goa. During its Golden Jubilee the festival will go on for nine days from 20th to 28th November 2019. But in its first “IFFI 50 is curating a ‘Homage Section’ which will screen films of sought-after actors who are no longer with us,” reads their section. Apparently the fest crew made a huge blunder. In the credits rightly given to veteran film director Satyajit Ray the staff used a picture of lyricist Gulzar! Honoring Bollywood actress late Ruma Guha Thakurta for acting in Bengali film ‘Ganashatru’ (1989) the homage section on the website rightly mentioned Satyajit Ray as its director. But the photo alongside showed lyricist Gulzar in place of Ray. IFFI finally corrected the mistake after a few movie buffs pointed it out.
