Bollywood’s iconic film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji left an indelible mark on audiences, becoming a massive hit both in cinemas and through its unforgettable soundtrack. Interestingly, the lyrical journey of its chart-topping tracks had an unexpected twist. Initially, veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar was approached for the project but chose to step back, citing his reservations about the film’s title. Sharing insights, lyricist Sameer Anjaan recently recounted in an interview with Lallantop, “Javed Saab was supposed to write the songs for this film. However, he quit the movie because he didn’t like the title of the film. He asked (director) Karan Johar to change the name and then only he would work on it because he liked the story but didn’t like the title at all.” Despite this hiccup, Sameer stepped in to craft timeless lyrics, including the now-legendary title track. He expressed that the director had reasons for sticking to the title, which ultimately resonated with viewers and contributed to the film’s colossal success.
