Scriptwriter and filmmaker Sagar Sarhadi, known for hits like ‘Kabhi Kabhie’, ‘Silsila’ and ‘Chandni’, passed away late Sunday night. Sarhadi was nearing 90. He breathed his last in Mumbai after a brief heart-related illness for which he was being treated at Sion Hospital. Paying his tribute to the noted filmmaker, Jackie Shroff shared a picture and wrote, “Will miss you. RIP.” His colleague Javed Akhtar also remembered, “Sagar Sarhadi, a veteran theatre and film writer, who wrote films like ‘Kabhi Kabhie’, ‘Noori’ and directed ‘Bazaar’ has passed away. My heartfelt condolences to the late bachelor’s nephew Ramesh Talwar.” Sagar was also a dialogue writer and very few would be aware that he wrote dialogues for Hrithik Roshan’s debut movie ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’, which went on to be a super hit.
