The Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta-starrer ‘Lahore 1947’ has been mking headlines since the time the film was announced. After a period of lying low, it has now returned to make waves again. This time it’s with a title change. Reports suggest that the title of ‘Lahore 1947’ is changed to ‘Batwara 1947’ as some makers feel that the original title could stir up controversy. The period drama is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and is produced by Aamir Khan Productions. Though Aamir Khan has denied such reports to a portal, news of title change still circulates online without any official confirmation. Apart from Sunny and Preity, ‘Lahore 1947’, aka ‘Batwara 1947’, features Shabana Azmi, Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh. The film is expected to release on August 13th just in time for India’s Independence Day.
