Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after her health deteriorated on January 8th. Since then, the crooner remains in hospital with a team of doctors constantly monitoring her health and fending off rumours. In what could be termed as a sigh of temporary relief, she is off ventilator now reads a statement from the Mangeshkar family, “Lata Didi continues to be in the ICU at Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai under treatment. She has been given a trial of extubation (off the ventilator) this morning. Presently, she is showing signs of improvement but will remain under observation of the team of doctors headed by Dr Pratit Samdani. We thank each one of you for your prayers and good wishes.” The 92-year-old was suffering from pneumonia along with turning Covid-19 positive.
