Audiences are about to witness an unusual family drama when Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri and digital creator Dharna Durga share the screen in ‘Maa Behen’. The trailer released on Friday, introduces viewers to a household brimming with tension and eccentricity. Directed by Suresh Triveni, the film also features Ravi Kishan in a pivotal role. The story opens with Rekha, played by Madhuri Dixit, berating her daughter Jaya (Triptii Dimri) for pawning jewelry. Sushma (Dharna Durga) quickly points out that Rekha’s own choices have dragged the family into trouble. Soon after, Jaya lashes out at her mother for being flirtatious despite years of widowhood, while their neighbor Guptaji (Ravi Kishan) openly flirts with Rekha. Reflecting on her role, Madhuri Dixit remarked, “Rekha is not your typical Hindi cinema mother and that’s exactly what made the character so exciting for me. As an actor, it’s incredibly rewarding to explore layered, unpredictable roles that challenge the audience’s expectations. Rekha may not be a perfect mother, but like any mother, she wants the best for her daughters and tries to hold her family together amidst all the chaos.” What begins as a comedy of errors takes a sinister turn when Guptaji is found dead inside Rekha’s home which ensues chaos after that. ‘Maa Behen’ will arrive on Netflix on June 4th.
