Mahesh Manjrekar has received threats from the underworld through text messages. The person reportedly claims to be from Abu Salem’s gang and is threatening the director-actor for ransom. The gangster has allegedly demanded Rs 35 crore, which is also known as protection money in the underworld and high-flying circles. Manjrekar has filed a complaint at the Dadar Police Station in Mumbai and the case is transferred to the Anti-extortion Cell. It must be noted here that Abu Salem is a convict in the 1993 Mumbai serial blast case which shook the entire city. Acting swiftly on Manjrekar’s complaint, the cops have reportedly arrested one person in this case.
