The comedy franchise ‘Mastiii 4’ featuring Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani has found itself at the center of a courtroom battle. Just weeks after its theatrical run and while gearing up for a digital release, the Delhi High Court received a petition targeting the film’s producers. The complaint comes from RJ and social media personality Ashish Sharma who insists that the movie lifted material from his viral reel ‘Shaq Karne Ka Nateeja’ which gained traction in January 2024. According to him, the filmmakers reproduced the essence of his work without permission or acknowledgment including the storyline, the comic rhythm, the character exchanges and the final punchline. RJ Tripti also appeared with him in the original reel. Sharma has demanded a permanent injunction, financial damages and disclosure of profits, accusing the team behind ‘Mastiii 4’ of exploiting his intellectual creation. The matter is scheduled for its next hearing on January 13, 2026.
