Being touted as a sequel to the critically acclaimed and box office hit ‘Life In A… Metro’ of 2007, fans had huge expectations from ‘Metro… In Dino’, which released last Friday. The latest film boasts of stars like Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Neena Gupta and Anupam Kher to name a few. But the film seems to be falling short of expectations at the ticket windows. On the opening day, ‘Metro… In Dino’ collected only Rs 4.05 crore at the box office. The weekend on the other hand, improved marginally with Rs 6.81 crore and Rs 7.79 crore taking the film’s total to Rs 18.65 crore in the first three days. The week is expected to be slower for this Anurag Basu directorial. With tough competition from ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ and still-running ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, it will be an uphill task for the makers to display sparkling results at the box office.
