Anil Kapoor and Sridevi gave a superhit film in the form of ‘Mr India’ back in 1987. While the film released almost 35 years ago, its preparations started much before that informed producer Boney Kapoor. Sharing an interesting anecdote, Boney said, “It was this day in 1985 that we started shooting for ‘Mr India’,” talking about January 19th. Revealing some moments from the making of the film, he also shared two throwback pictures where Shashi Kapoor and Jeetendra visited the sets, “Some esteemed guests, who came to witness the madness of the crew on the sets of ‘Mr India’, but went back appreciating the passion of every crew member. The film was shot for over 300 days and all the special effects were done live in camera. Nothing was left for post-production as the existing special effects studios and setups were outdated and their outputs and jobs were quite tacky.” Directed by Shekhar Kapur, ‘Mr India’ went on to become a cult film in the history of Bollywood cinema.
