On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, Akshay Kumar announced his new film ‘Gorkha’. The film will narrate the story of Major General Ian Cardozo, who lost his leg in a landmine blast. But he went on to become the first war-disabled officer of the Indian army to command a battalion and a brigade. Interestingly, as Akshay unveiled the movie’s first look, a former officer of the Gorkha Rifles pointed out an error in the same. Major Manik M Jolly shared on Twitter, “Dear, Akshay Kumarji, as an ex-Gorkha officer, my thanks to you for making this movie. However, details matter. Kindly get the Khukri right. The sharp edge is on the other side. It is not a sword. Khukri strikes from the inner side of the blade. Reference picture of Khukri attached. Thanks,” to which Akki promptly responded, “Dear Major Jolly, thank you so much for pointing this out. We’ll take utmost care while filming. I’m very proud and honoured to be making ‘Gorkha’. Any suggestions to get it closest to reality would be most appreciated.” The film will be helmed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, with Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma producing.
