India’s prestigious civilian honour, The Padma Awards 2020 were announced on the eve of the country’s Republic Day. The Government of India declared the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri winners on January 25 and Bollywood wasn’t far behind in getting their share. Karan Johar along with Sharman Joshi’s mother Sarita Joshi, who has worked in many films, shows and plays received the Padma Shri. She is considered to be an actress par excellence. Three time National Film Award winner Kangana Ranaut grabbed the fourth highest civilian award this time around as she proudly flaunted her Padma Shri. Distinguished celebs like Ekta Kapoor, Adnan Sami and singer Suresh Wadkar were also awarded with the same honour in the Art category. The awards should be conferred in March or April.
