Parineeti Chopra has bagged a big ticket film opposite Akshay Kumar. ‘Kesari’, which is produced by Karan Johar, will see Pari playing the female lead. The film is based on the battle of Saragarhi, which was fought between the Sikh soldiers of the British Army and Pashtun Orakzai tribesmen in 1897. Akki has already begun shooting for the historic drama in which he plays Havildar Ishar Singh. “I am so excited to be a part of this legendary journey,” shares Parineeti on Twitter. ‘Kesari’ is directed by Anurag Singh and the makers plan to release the film during Holi 2019.
