Priyanka Chopra Jonas is ready to don a new role, that of the Chairperson for the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) Film Festival. Deepika Padukone was occupying the seat prior to Pee Ceea and stepped down four months ago. Putting out her selection as the Chairperson of MAMI, Priyanka shot a selfie video in which she said, “If the goal is to create a platform to showcase Indian cinema to the world then I’m all in. And with that spirit, I am proud to be taking on the role of Chairperson of the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival.” Instead of its usual one-week run as every year, the Board of Directors have made it huge. MAMI will now span as long as six months from October 2021 to March 2022.
