Renowned Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan found himself at the center of controversy in Dubai recently. Reports surfaced claiming he had been detained due to a defamation complaint filed by his former manager Salman Ahmed as reported by Geo TV. Allegedly, Ahmed had lodged complaints against Rahat following their fallout a few months ago which resulted in legal actions between the two parties. Rahat, who was in Dubai for a musical project was reportedly taken into custody at an immigration centre for questioning. However, Rahat has since refuted these claims in a video message urging his followers not to lend credence to the “malicious reports”. In the video, he clarified, “I came to Dubai to record a song. Some malicious reports are circulating. Please do not believe them.” Taking to Instagram, the singer’s team vehemently denied the allegations, labelling them as “fake and baseless”. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s career has spanned numerous Bollywood hits including ‘O Re Piya’, ‘Teri Ore’, ‘Tere Bin’ and many more beloved numbers.
