A 30-year-old Bangladeshi national, Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir was apprehended by Mumbai Police in Thane on Sunday. The accused, who allegedly stabbed Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan was found sleeping at a bus stop post-attack and later changed his attire to avoid detection. Despite his efforts to evade capture by moving through various locations including Bandra, Dadar and Worli, he was eventually tracked down due to his unique backpack as revealed by multiple CCTV footage. The attack occurred in the early hours of January 16, 2025 when Shehzad broke into Saif’s Bandra residence with the intention of theft. The 54-year-old actor suffered multiple stab wounds and underwent a five-hour surgery at Lilavati Hospital. He’s said to be out of danger now.
