During a candid appearance on ‘Two Much With Kajol And Twinkle’, Salman Khan peeled back the curtain on a harrowing chapter of his life – his long struggle with trigeminal neuralgia. The actor spoke of enduring relentless agony for over seven years, describing the condition as so excruciating that, in his words, “You would not want your biggest enemy to have that pain. And I had it for seven-and-a-half years.” The nerve disorder, often dubbed the ‘suicidal disease’, disrupted even the simplest routines. “And this used to happen every four to five minutes. It used to take me an hour-and-a-half to have my breakfast, and I used to go straight to dinner. For an omelette, it used to take me… because I couldn’t… so I used to force myself (to eat),” he revealed adding that pain killers offered no relief. After an intense eight-hour surgery, Salman finally found respite. Reflecting on the ordeal he said, “It is the worst pain. It is called ‘the suicidal disease’. The highest number of suicides happen because of this condition.” Despite the trauma, Salman kept working, currently filming ‘Battle of Galwan’, proving once again that resilience is his trademark.
