Former Narcotics Control Bureau officer Sameer Wankhede has filed a defamation suit against Aryan Khan, Netflix and Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment over his alleged portrayal in the web series ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’. Wankhede, who arrested Aryan Khan in a high-profile drug case in 2021, claims the show presents a “false, malicious and defamatory” depiction of him damaging his personal and professional reputation. The series which is written and directed by Aryan Khan, includes scenes that Wankhede argues are prejudicial, including one where a narcotics officer is mocked with an obscene gesture after quoting India’s national slogan. Seeking ₹2 crore in damages, Wankhede has stated his intent to donate the amount to cancer patients at Tata Memorial Hospital. He also emphasized that the legal proceedings involving him and Aryan Khan are still ongoing, making the portrayal irresponsible and potentially harmful to public trust in law enforcement.
