Sanjay Mishra, Annu Kapoor To Share Screen Space In ‘Mangal Ho’

‘Ankho Dekhi’ fame actor Sanjay Mishra has come on board with director Pritish Chakraborty’s comedy film, ‘Mangal Ho’ where he’ll be playing a Bengali businessman.

About the reason behind choosing Mishra to play the character, Chakraborthy told media, “I signed Sanjay Mishra because he is a brilliant actor and brilliant actors can easily fit into any character from any particular community. He hasn’t tried his hand at a Bengali character till now so this brings about freshness to the film. It is a challenge for us with this role but for him it is another means to experiment with his roles.”

Preparing for the Bengali dialogues won’t be difficult for Mishra he feels, “Sanjay ji is familiar with the language of Bengali, though in this film he doesn’t have to mouth too many dialogues in Bengali. But he has to portray his character through the strength of his mannerisms, and gestures which will have a Bengali touch. He’ll be able to grasp the elements on his own easily while deliberating on the script and discussing the scenes.”

Mishra’s line ‘Dhondu!! Just Chill’ from Rohit Shetty’s ‘All The Best’ is still stuck in the minds of viewers and something similar is on the cards in ‘Mangal Ho’, “There would definitely be a catchy one-liner along the lines of it and you have to wait for it,” he said.

Versatile actor Annu Kapoor plays a scientist in the comedy who is curious to know if there is life on the planet of Mars. Will bringing two established actors together be a challenge for Chakraborty, he replied, “Not difficult as both of them are outstanding actors in their own right and are at the top of their game in their respective careers right now. They do share screen space in the film and obviously they have proved themselves over the years. The experience with Annu ji has been extremely enjoyable till now and I’m sure it’d be the same with Sanjay ji. And shooting with both of them together would raise the fun quotient immensely.”

Mishra plays a businessman in the film, “His character is of a stingy Bengali person who does business. He conducts his business very miserly and that will make the audience laugh.” said Chakraborty.

First schedule of the film has been successfully completed and the second schedule is likely to kick off in first week of September. The film deals with the mission to form a civilization on the planet of Mars in a quirky manner.

Mangal Ho’ is directed by Pritish Chakraborty and is produced by Ascent Films Pvt. Ltd.
