After the massive success of ‘Kabir Singh’, it was only obvious that Shahid Kapoor would readily agree to star in another South remake. As contemplated earlier, it has now been confirmed that Shahid will play the lead in the Hindi remake of the April 2019 release ‘Jersey’. The film will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanauri, who directed the original Telugu version. The makers have even gone a step ahead and confirmed the Hindi remake’s release date, much before the film’s considerable amount of shoot. Shahid Kapoor-starter ‘Jersey’ is scheduled to hit the screens on August 28, 2020, two weeks after the Indian Independence Day. The sports drama is about the struggles of a man hoping to make it big in the Indian cricket team.
