Shahid Kapoor has signed up to play Ngangom Dingko Singh aka Dingko Singh in a film which will be helmed by Raja Krishna Menon. Boxer Ngangom Dingko Singh was the first and only Asian gold medal winner from India in the Bantamweight category. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2013. Speaking about the ambitious film, Shahid informs, “He is a sports star who fought cancer. His story is unbelievably crazy and inspiring. Such stories need to be told.” The film is scheduled to go on the floors in April 2019, while the makers are yet to announce the rest of the cast and the release date.
