Audiences who missed ‘Dhurandhar’ during its theatrical run have now discovered the film on streaming platforms which has sparked a wave of new reactions online. Among those weighing in is veteran filmmaker Shekhar Kapur who shared his thoughts on social media, “Finally saw ‘Dhurandhar’ on Netflix. Terrific storytelling and very high level of performances even from minor roles. Director Aditya Dhar deserves all the praise he’s getting. Congratulations, producer Jyoti Deshpande and looking forward to ‘Dhurandhar 2’. I wish I had seen the film in the cinema halls, but it wasn’t available in theaters where I am, in Dubai, where it did not release.” His comments highlight the challenges faced by the film in the Gulf region where it was barred from release across six countries. Despite this restriction, the Aditya Dhar project featuring Ranveer Singh, Sara Arjun, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan and Rakesh Bedi went on to achieve a global box office haul exceeding Rs 1,328 crore.
