Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ collected Rs 6.76 crore on its opening day, terming it as a slow start by the experts. Going by the starry cast, the film could have fetched more, it is believed. On Saturday, the collection witnessed a jump with Rs 7.96 crore, making a two day total of Rs 14.72 crore at the box office. Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ is based on the social issue of electricity stealing and buzz suggests that the audiences are looking forward to entertainment over social issues, hence the drop in figures.
