Sonu Sood was in for a surprise when Income Tax officials came visiting his house and offices last week. The officers maintained that it was a survey but the exercise went on even the next day. Murmurs then started that Sood’s properties were being raided and searched as the I-T department claimed tax evasion to the tune of Rs 20 crore! Sonu had kept mum all this while, but is now speaking out saying, “You don’t always have to tell your side of the story. Time will. Every rupee in my foundation is awaiting its turn to save a precious life and reach the needy. In addition, on many occasions, I have encouraged brands to donate my endorsement fees for humanitarian causes too.” Taking a little dig at the government department, Sonu further added, ‘Kar’ bhala, ho bhala; ant bhale ka bhala,” ‘kar’ meaning tax. It looks like the swords are out between the income tax department and Sonu Sood.
