Big-budget Bollywood films have started releasing on streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hotstar. While the digital mediums are providing an outlet for films during the pandemic, here’s some great news for theaters. Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ and Ranveer Singh’s ‘83’ are preparing to hit the big screen in a couple of months. PVR Cinemas became the first one to share the news, “Exciting times ahead… Gearing up to release ‘Sooryavanshi’ on Diwali and ‘83’ on Christmas this 2020!”, booking the two important release dates in the calendar. While ‘Sooryavanshi’ stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif and is directed by Rohit Shetty, ‘83’ has Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone and is helmed by Kabir Khan who is also co-producing the film. Shooting of both the films were complete before the lockdown and they had moved to the post-production stage.
