Tabu, who created quite a flutter when she crooned for Haider, will once again be lending her voice for her upcoming film ‘Missing’. It is also the first film announced through Neeraj Pandey and Shital Bhatia’s recently launched Horror films focused sub-brand Friday Fearworks. Tabu has sung a lullaby for her on-screen daughter in the film which also features Manoj Bajpayee as the male lead.

Commenting on the same, Producer Shital Bhatia said, “Being an important scene we wanted it to be authentic as well as emotionally connecting, hence we thought it would be great if Tabu herself would sing it. When we discussed the same with Tabu she readily agreed.”

“The song has turned out exceptionally well and we are all excited as her voice has added a lot of depth to the lullaby and meaning to the scene,” added Shital

Titled ‘Soja Re’, the song is composed by MM Keeravani and the lyrics are penned by Manoj Muntashir.

Mukul Abhayankar, the Director of the film, admitted that it hadn’t been difficult to convince Tabu to sing. “She sings really well, understands music and verse. By using her voice we’ve made the scene look authentic,” he asserts, recalling how much the actress had loved the lyrics and the tune. “Tabu picked up the song in one night. She rehearsed the evening before the shoot, and we took another day for the dubbing. She sang two antaras but we have retained one in the film.”

Co-produced with Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia Entertainment and debutant producer Manoj Bajpayee himself, through his newly formed production house Manoj Bajpayee Productions Pvt. Ltd, the film also stars Annu Kapoor. It promises to be a thriller of a form and format not seen by movie-going audiences in a long time. Missing is slated for a year-end release.
