The Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ released with Deepika Padukone’s ‘Chhapaak’ today. And the former seems to have emerged a winner at the box office on Day 1. ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ opened to 30 percent occupancy in morning shows whereas ‘Chhapaak’ managed about 20 percent. The latter is declared tax-free in two states, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, but a certain political section is calling to boycott ‘Chhapaak’ for difference in ideologies. The storyline for ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ and ‘Chhapaak’ are starkly different but both releases have heavyweights acting and backing their films. ‘Tanhaji’ also features Saif Ali Khan and Kajol. Interestingly, both the movies are produced by the lead actors of the respective films.
