‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ and ‘Panipat’ were declared tax-free in some states in India recently after they hit screens. ‘Thappad’ now joins that list. The Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Thappad’ is declared tax-free in the state of Madhya Pradesh two days before the film’s release on February 28th. The story traces the journey of a woman who gets an unwarranted slap in the face by her husband and refuses to take it lying down. In the meantime, Aamir Khan has supported the team saying, “Dear Mrunmayee, wishing you all the very best for the release of your 1st writing assignment, ‘Thappad’. All the very best Mrunmayee, Anubhav, Taapsee, and the entire team!” The social drama is directed by Anubhav Sinha.
