The shifting calendar of Bollywood releases has once again created an unexpected twist. After the postponement of Yash’s ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups’, Varun Dhawan’s romantic comedy ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ reclaimed its earlier slot. Directed by David Dhawan and featuring Pooja Hegde alongside Mrunal Thakur, the film had been juggling dates but has now settled back on June 5th. Varun confirmed the news on Instagram with a poster and the words, “June 5th, 2026 in theatres. Thankful to Yash and Maddock Films for helping us reset the calendar as our film ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ will now release on its original date. The first film to release post IPL.” With this move, the only box office competition will be Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bandar’ starring Bobby Deol. The journey to this final date has been eventful as the film first shifted to June 12 to avoid clashing with ‘Toxic’, then jumped forward to May 22nd where it faced ‘Chand Mera Dil’, before circling back to June 5th.
