Audiences are about to see Yami Gautam in a very different light with ‘Nayyi Navelli’, a project that mixes eerie suspense with playful comedy. The story unfolds in Meerut, where a seemingly flawless bride enters a household and begins to reshape it into a dreamlike paradise. Yet beneath the charm lies a darker possibility, as one family member grows convinced that the perfect daughter-in-law may be something far more sinister. Yami informed, “‘Nayyi Navelli’: A picture-perfect bride transforms a chaotic Meerut household into a slice of heaven… until her brother-in-law suspects that things may not be as perfect as they seem! The ideal bahu could very well be an evil force from an outer world! Can this family survive her?” Rooted in Indian folklore, the film is currently in pre-production and marks Yami’s first collaboration with filmmaker Aanand L Rai. Shooting is expected to commence later this year, setting the stage for a theatrical release before the film eventually finds its way to streaming platforms.
