While a lot of filmmakers have rebelled against the brutal cuts of the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC), here is one successful filmmaker who is speaking in their support. Director of ‘Queen’, Vikas Bahl is apparently seeking an ‘A’ certificate for his upcoming film ‘Udta Punjab’ and states that the Censor Board at times does do justice. “At times you conceive a thing in a certain manner, but if there is a cut, it doesn’t convey the right message. But when you see the overall context and when the CBFC also sees it, they try to ensure that your message is not diluted and what they are trying to achieve is also done at the same time,” justifies Vikas Bahl. Ironically, a good friend of Vikas, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has been in constant tiffs with the Censor Board.
