The censorship controversy seems to have paid off at the box office for ‘Udta Punjab’. Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh starrer managed to rock the box office on day one, bagging Rs 10 crore. At the end of its first week, the film made a little more than Rs 48 crore. According to trade reports, ‘Udta Punjab’ made approximately Rs 53 crore in 10 days of its release. ‘Udta Punjab’ faced little competition at the box office from releases like ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ and ‘Junooniyat’.
