Two years ago, John Abraham ambitiously spoke about his football movie ‘1911’. The film was to be directed by ‘Vicky Donor’ director Shoojit Sircar but it seems like filmmaker is no longer associated with the project. Trade reports suggested that John Abraham shelved the film for a while, but is now planning to revive it and is in search of a new director to collaborate for the project. John will portray the passionate footballer Shibdas Bhaduri in the film, who was the captain of Mohun Bagan AC in the historic match of 1911 IFA Shield Final. Mohun Bagan had defeated the East Yorkshire Regiment with a score of 2-1 and became the first Asian team to win the competition.
