Vidya Balan starrer ‘Begum Jaan’ released last week and the partition drama failed to live up to its expectations. Since the film released on Good Friday, a bank holiday, it attracted few audiences. Thanks to this, ‘Begum Jaan’ collected Rs 3.50 crore on its first day of release. Over the weekend, ‘Begum Jaan’ recorded meager numbers with Rs 3.25 crore on Saturday and Rs 3.75 crore on Sunday, standing at a total of Rs 10.50 crore at the end of three days. Directed by Srijit Mukherji, the film was apparently made on a small budget of Rs 15 crore by Bhatts owned Vishesh Films.
