Kamal Haasan announced his political party Makkal Needhi Maiam yesterday. In English, the name roughly means people’s justice centre. While Haasan promised to bring about aspiring changes through his party, daughter Shruti Haasan too supported her father’s move. She shared, “Wishing my dear father all the success on his first step of a million more towards change and political reform. To quote your favorite Mahatma Gandhi, ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world’. I am certain about your determination and perseverance towards truth and justice. It will now be seen by everyone in our wonderful home of Tamil Nadu.” With this move, Kamal Haasan has joined the bandwagon of the many cinema stars who have ventured into politics.
