Akshay Kumar has joined hands with director Rohit Shetty to star in a cop film titled ‘Sooryavanshi’. A glimpse of this role was revealed in Ranveer Singh-starrer ‘Simmba’. Reports suggested that the director has bought the rights of Tamil film ‘Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru’, to remake ‘Sooryavanshi’. However, clarifying the rumor, Rohit’s spokesperson states, “The news is completely untrue and baseless. Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Sooryavanshi’, which is produced and directed by Rohit Shetty, is an original story and not inspired from any film.” Akshay and Rohit are set to begin shooting for the film soon, as it is targeted to hit the screens in December this year.
