Rani Mukerji was snapped in action last night on the streets of Mumbai, as the actress plays Superintendent of Police, Shivani Shivaji Roy, in ‘Mardaani 2’. The late-night shoot saw the actress in an intense avatar. Her powerful performance in the 2014 release ‘Mardaani’ received a warm welcome, encouraging the makers to come out with a sequel. ‘Mardaani 2’ will feature Rani battling a 21-year-old merciless villain. Produced by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films, ‘Mardaani 2’ will mark the directorial debut of Gopi Puthran, who was the writer of the first film. With Rani in back in action, ‘Mardaani 2’ is scheduled to release this year.
