Ajay Devgn had announced last year that he will step into the shoes of former Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim and the said film has finally gone on the floors. Titled ‘Maidaan’, this Bollywood flick will capture the ‘golden period of football’, which is said to be from 1950-1963. The film is directed by Amit Sharma and Ajay will reportedly be seen in an ageing avatar as it traces the decade-long journey. Boney Kapoor is backing this sports biopic. Before starting off with ‘Maidaan’, Ajay was busy working on another real-life story, ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India’. The actor had been extensively shooting for the same in Kutch, post which he is reporting on the sets of ‘Maidaan’.
