Deepika Padukone is busy promoting her upcoming film ‘Chhapaak’. But seems she has called off her promotional tour of Delhi. Reports suggest that the actress was due to speak at an event in Delhi, but following the unrest in the capital, Deepika and director Meghana Gulzar have dropped out of the event. Deepika and Meghana stated that it would be insensitive to promote a film when the city was going through an emotional upheaval. Interestingly, ‘Chhapaak’ is based on the story of an acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, who faced the horrific incident in Delhi. Releasing on January 10, 2020, the film features Deepika in title role of the acid attack survivor while Vikrant Massey essays the role of a journalist and is her romantic interest in the film.
