Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ was racing towards the coveted Rs 300-crore mark at the box office but his journey is cut short just before hitting that milestone. It collected about Rs 269 crore in two months and was even declared tax-free in some states in India before being taken down. If the theatres were not ordered a mandatory shut down in several states, ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ would have crossed 100 days at the ticket windows and would have easily breached the Rs 300-crore barrier. The film was released on January 10, clashing with Deepika Padukone’s ‘Chhapaak’. Saif Ali Khan and Kajol accompanied Ajay in ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ under the direction of Om Raut.
