Irrfan Khan passed away today in Mumbai at the age of 53. While he was suffering from neuroendocrine tumour for a few years, he suddenly developed a colon infection this past week and was admitted to a city hospital. Due to the lockdown, Bollywood celebrities could not attend his funeral and paid condolences on social media instead. “We are thankful for experiencing Irrfan’s resilience and spirit. There is no one like him and I’m going to miss him very much,” said Dinesh Vijan, producer of Irrfan’s last film ‘Angrezi Medium’. Amitabh Bachchan, who worked with him in ‘Piku’ said, “This is the most disturbing and sad news. An incredible talent, a gracious colleague and a prolific contributor to the world of cinema left us too soon, creating a huge vacuum.” Stars like Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Shoojit Sircar also paid their tributes remembering Irrfan.
